Teacher education students--build your resume! Apply for a tutoring position and help a child succeed in reading and/or math. Get involved in Bozeman area school classrooms prior to your in-school practicum and student teaching experiences. Non-education majors can build their resume as well.

  • $11.00/hour wage – Work-Study Eligible. Monthly pay on the 11th.
  • Work 7 - 10 hours/week

Tutors are paired with K - 8 students in Bozeman area schools who have been identified as needing help with reading, literacy, and math. We will work with your schedule to make sure that you earn as much of your award as possible while maintaining a schedule that is beneficial to you.  The Field Placement & Licensure Office provides all tutors training prior to beginning tutor sessions in the classroom.

Are you interested in volunteering for the Help Center’s crisis hotline? If so, we have good news – our crisis hotline volunteer training is coming up! The training will be the following dates, all of which are mandatory to attend: • September 13th 5:30pm-8pm • September 14th 9am-5pm • September 20th 5:30pm-8pm • September 21st 9am-5pm We ask that volunteers make a 9-month commitment to us. During that commitment, volunteers are expected to come in for one 4-hour shift per week (with exceptions for emergencies, illness, vacations, etc.). For more information on qualifications and what volunteering for the crisis hotline entails, please view the job description on our site. We are looking for volunteers to spend time with the elderly residents of Mountain View Care Center! Activities could include visiting with residents, playing instruments, assisting with crafts, reading, taking residents outside, playing games, and pet therapy (must supply vaccination records  and have approval from Activity Director). Hospice of Bozeman Health is seeking compassionate individuals eager to share their time and talents. Hospice volunteers offer one-on-one companionship, read to patients, listen to life stories, provide respite for families, hold hands, go for walks, sing, play cards, etc. Call Rachel Smith, Volunteer Coordinator, at 585-1099 for more information.
