RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE

OF

THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY

Adopted 28 February 2019

Whereas, In being Montana’s only land-grant university, Montana State University will continue to grow in order to accommodate the ever increasing demand for an exceptional higher education; and,

Whereas, Current growth has already led to concerns and frustrations about parking and transportation surrounding campus that resonates campus wide, being shared by members of the administration, faculty, staff and student body alike; and,

Whereas, Addressing these concerns not only allows the university to be proactive in future situations, but also allows the university to be more connected and unified at present; and,

Whereas, An issue of this magnitude requires a concerted, university wide, forward thinking, response to adequately address; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Associated Students of Montana State University staunchly support the formation of a university wide committee to be comprised of representatives from the administration, faculty, staff, and student body; and,

Resolved, That this committee is to be charged with the development of a Strategic Plan that will address the planning, funding, development, implementation and operation of an intracampus shuttle system, with an ultimate directive of having an operating shuttle system in place by the beginning of academic year 2019-2020.
