RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE

OF

THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY

Adopted 15 November 2018

Whereas, Fraternity and Sorority (FS) housing exemptions were introduced by Dean of Students Rolf Groseth; and,

Whereas, The FS housing exemption was created to incentivize good grades for chapters and members seeking to move first-year members out of the residence halls into their chapter houses; and,

Whereas, Greek Exemption helps relieve financial burdens of other members of the chapters; and,

Whereas, Residence Life is currently dealing with a shortage of beds in Residence Halls; and,

Whereas, Greek Exemption helps maintain high retention rates; and,

Whereas, To qualify for Greek Exemption, Freshman must maintain a 2.5 GPA and have a clean conduct record in the Residence Halls; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, The Associated Students of Montana State University supports the continuation of Greek Exemption.
